LSP’23 One Year Later: The GOATs Aren’t Kidding Around About Leadership in Our Community

While you’re in Leadership St. Pete, it seems it will last forever, but it’s already been a year since the LSP Class of 2023 (Greatest of All Time) graduated. Graduation was just the beginning–the Class of 2023 is putting their leadership learning and new connections into action to serve the city of St. Pete.

Building on Connections

Steve Marciano joined the Seniors in Service board of directors after being introduced to the organization by his fellow classmate Robin Ingles, who serves as Seniors in Service’s CEO.  He also joined the board of, and chairs 360 Eats. He and fellow 360 Eats board member Megan McGee recruited Dr. Beverly Warren to join them on the board.

Deeper Roots in St. Pete

Aron Bryce (or “Mister Mayor,” as he is called by his classmates) serves as president of the revitalized Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA), and recruited Dr. Byron Green-Calisch as vice-chair. Byron also serves as the 2024 president of St. Pete Pride. Ali DySard joined the board of the St. Pete Saturday Market, and Chris Griffin became chair of the St. Pete Young Professionals. Ryan Quinty serves on the St. Pete Chamber board of directors.

Taking Their Skills to New Places

Missy Hurley bought her company, Pamela Lee changed jobs, Brittney Frazier and Kristin Sakora started new companies, Aaron Germundsen attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, and John Flood, Kelli McDonough, and Nicole Walker moved, so even more people, organizations, and neighborhoods will benefit from what these class members bring.

Leaning into Leadership

Many class members kept the LSP magic alive through the LSP Planning Committee and serving in the LSP Alumni Association. Callie Barber, Dr. Kristen Brauer, Erin Flock, Al Gentilini, Steve Marciano, Jake Moore, Morgan Puttick, Demetrius Taylor, and Dr. Beverly Warren shared their recent experience with the Class of 2024, serving on the 2024 LSP Planning Committee, and Anne Core joins Kristen, Erin, Steve, Morgan, and Bev on the 2025 LSP PC.

Meanwhile, a trio of class members served on the board of the Leadership St. Pete Alumni Association: Dr. Byron Green-Calisch (Community Service Chair), Allison McKown (Leadership Development Chair), and Dr. Sandy Weiss (Secretary).

Lola B. Morgan gave the keynote address at the LSPAA Women in Leadership event and serves on the LSPAA Leadership Development Committee. Lola also created and launched “The Ultimate Self-Care Experience,” a free community event for caregivers, teens, and youth.

After sitting next to each other during LSP’23 all year whenever they were arranged alphabetically, Alfio Carroccetto and Anne Core continue to sit next to each other at LSPAA Marketing Committee meetings–Alfio co-manages LSPAA’s social media and Anne edits the LSPAA newsletter.

Mindi Richter was selected for the Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class 42.

One thing that unites the Greatest of All Time Class is the desire to serve, and we look forward to seeing the Class of 2023’s continued commitment to our community in the years and decades to come.
